hi guys, metro in delhi is a mess for gents. I was travelling though dwarka line when a lady asked for seat, i just stood up respecting her, she was not very old and tired, and guess where she left 4 stops later! and i kept standing for near 15 stops before my stop arrived. EarlierI had deliberately missed a train sighting it was full. Now that was not fair on me, as, soon the seat was taken although i was not sitting on ladies seat! Then there are constant announcements "plz vacate seats for ladies", that's ok too. But what i hate is that some ladies use this arrangements to their advantage, even they are not tired whatsoever. We just can't say no as people around will stare like we(gents) are alien. Other day i was reading in HT about so called women plight that men don't behave properly by not vacating seat for them, i ask why should we ? if someone is really tired why should he stand to give seat to a lady?No matter how tired one is, he has to stand to vacate seat for ladies, otherwise there will be question marks on is humility. That's just not fair, is it? I know this happens very seldomly, but still happens. They should alter announcements as " plz vacate seat for elder and needy people" not specifically "ladies". We talk a lot, to remove gender bias, one should start from here!
